Issue 128 - November 2019
From the Managing Editor:
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go back to Review Santa Fe. It’s such a great event - from the portfolio walk and artist talks, to the book fair and the reviews - it’s a magical photo weekend and it always serves a source of inspiration. I love seeing all of the different ideas circulating and the various approaches to image-making. Thanks to Laura Pressley and your great team at CENTER for all of the hard work.
As usual, there was a plethora of strong work. I’m happy to share portfolios from several of the artists that I connected with in this month’s issue, as well as a few others in upcoming issues. From long-term documentary projects to playful still lifes to whimsical narratives, November has something for everyone. I hope that you enjoy and you spend time with the work of Sarah Christianson, Inga Hendrickson, Kim Llerena and Andrés de Varona. When meeting with each of these artists it was evident how dedicated they each are to their personal practice and to the photo community as a whole. Show them some love and reach out if you have inquiries! Charcoal Book Club’s book for November is Echo Mask by Jonathan Levitt. Please stay in touch and show us what you’ve been working on! Thank you for your support.
With gratitude,
Bree Lamb
