Nightscapes by Frank Relle
Critics and collectors have described Frank Relle's architectural night photographs as Southern Gothic allegories focused on the relationships between the rich and poor. These images highlight the dichotomies of man and nature, past and present, prosperity and decay. Shot between 2004 and 2008, the photographs are lit to capture the mood and paradox of the south. The windshield of my grandmother's 1986 Lincoln Town Car provided the viewfinder for discovering the subjects.
Frank Relle lives and works in New Orleans, Louisiana.
